Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca city tour :

Upon arrival to Casablanca we will transfer you to local hotel our private 14 day Morocco tour starts with a short tour of Casablanca including visiting the Great Mosque Hassan II which is the largest mosque in Morocco. You will have free program.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Fes

Today we leave Casablanca (the economic capital of Morocco) to Rabat. Here we will visit the Oudaya Kasbah and its beautiful gardens. After finishing tour in Rabat we head to Fez where we stay overnight in local hotel.

Day 3: Fez Sightseeing Tour

Today we explore intellectual capital of Fez. It is the 2nd biggest city of Morocco (population of 1 million). Fes is former capital and one of the country’s four imperial cities. Fez comprises 3 distinct : Fez el Bali (the oldest part surrounded by a wall, where you find more than 9000 narrow streets and allies). Fez-Jdid or the new Fes is a home of the Mellah – the Jewish quarter. The Ville Nouvelle is the newest section of Fez created during the French occupation. Fez el Bali is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and its medina – old city, is the largest in the world.

Day 4: Fes – Volubilis – Meknes

Today we drive to Meknes where we will visit the most important archaeological site in Morocco called Volubilis (features Roman ruins ). Then we will visit Meknes (named after a Berber tribe). Meknes was the capital of Morocco under Moulay Ismail. We will have guided tour of Meknes and we stay here overnight.

Day 5: Meknes – Midelt – Ziz valley – Erfoud – Merzouga desert

Today we will drive through the Ifran – nicknamed as a little Switzerland. We drive towards Midelt and Erfoud (famous for its pottery and fossils). Then we head to Rissani – the hometown of the Alaouist dynasty. Later we reach Merzouga desert and we will have dinner at local desert hotel.

Day 6: Merzouga desert Camel trek and 1 night in desert camp

Today we will have tour of the Erg Chebbi desert, the largest sand dunes in Morocco. We will see plenty of nomadic tents in the middle of desert, we will also stop by a nomadic family to have tea. Then we will visit village -Khamliya – where we will enjoy local music. Later afternoon we ride camels into desert to reach desert camp -bivouac in Merzouga desert. We stay here overnight sleeping in Berber tents.

Day 7: Merzouga desert – Rissani – Todgha Gorges

Today we head from Merzouga to visit Risani -Mausoleum of the founder of the Alaouite Dynasty – Moulay Ali Chrif. In Rissani we will visit local large souk. Then we head towards Todgha Gorge which is situated in High Atlas Mountains. Here we will enjoy a hike among canyons. We stay in Todra overnight in local hotel.

Day 8: Todgha Gorges – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate

Today in the morning we departure to the road of 1000 kasbahs. Then we pass Boumalen situated on the edge of Dades valley. In this valley locals produces cosmetic products as soaps and perfumes. Locals here celebrate rose by organizing a festival. After that we reach Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa). It is mainly inhabited by Berbers and we will visit here Taourirt Kasbah ,also Morocco’s biggest studios (Lawrence of Arabia , The Living Daylights , The Last Temptation of Christ, The Mummy, Gladiator , Kingdom of Heaven). We stay here in lcoal hotel for this night.

Day 9: Ouarzazate – Ait Benahddou – Taroudant

Today we will visit fortified city of Aït Benhaddou. Once upon a time this Kasbah was a former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh. Ait Benhaddou -Kasbah has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Then we head to the town of Taroudant which is called the “Grandmother of Marrakesh”. Taroudant has rich plain and farms of grapes and it is a notable marketing town with its souk. We stay hore overnight in local hotel.

Day 10: Taroudant – Agadir – Essaouira

Today we drive 70 km to reach Agadir city – which is the capital of Berbers. It is very modern city that is located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean and has the most important fishing and commercial port of Morocco. Also it is the 1st sardine port in the world. Agadir is a modern, busy and dynamic town and very famous for its sea food. After exploring Agadir we head towards Essaouira to visit this city. Essaouira has also been known by its Portuguese name of Mogador. We stay here in local hotel and you will have free program to discover the city.

Day 11: Essaouira city tour

Today in the morning we explorer Essaouira coast which is well known for its kite surfing and windsurfing, horse riding, camel riding along the beach. Essaouira is famous for its Gnaoua Festival of Music. We stay also this night in Essaouira.

Day 12: Essaouira – Marrakech

Along the half way between Essaouira and Marrakesh you will see enormous Argan tree on both sides of the road. These Argan trees are frequently climbed by goats. Argan oil is produced by several women’s cooperatives and it is used to prepare couscous, salads. Moreover it was traditionally used as a treatment for skin diseases before being founded as good enough for cosmetics by Europeans manufacturers. Still stop by one of these cooperatives is worthy to see how Berber women squeezed the Argan fruits between hands to extract this precious oil. We arrive to our hotel in Marrakesh and if time permit we go out for a walk.

Day 13: Marrakech city tour

Today a full guided tour is scheduled to explorer Marrakech city (known as the “Red City”). It is the most important former imperial city in Morocco (situated near Atlas Mountain). Marrakech comprises an old fortified city (The Medina) and also an very modern city (called Gueliz). Marrakesh has the largest traditional market in Morocco. We will explorer deeper Djemaa el Fna square – which is full of story-tellers, water sellers, dancers, snakes charmers. Then we also visit The Koutoubia Mosque, house called Dar Pacha El Glaoui . We stay in medina in local hotel near main square.

Day 14: Marrakech / Casablanca airport trasnfer

Today after morning guided tour you you can discover Marrakesh by your own. Then we drive you to the airport. That will be end of our 14 day private Morocco tour.
