Overview

Our Fez to Merzouga tour gives you the chance to see the real desert of Erg Chebbi . Visit also Ifrane , Midelt in Atlas mountains. We do not miss interesting places as Dades goges, Ait Benhaddou and of course Marrakech.

Itinerary

DAY 1 : Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midlet – Ziz Valley – Merzouga desert

Our 4 day Morocco private tour from Fez starting towards city of Ifrane -called as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. Then we pass Midlet in High Atlas mountains. We will stop at the famous cedar forest where you may see the Barbarian apes. Our Morocco desert journey continues along the spectacular Ziz valley with panoramic views along the way. We will pass few Berber villages to reach Erfoud, and Rissani. In the evening we reach Merzouga and we stay here overnight in local riad.

DAY 2 : Merzouga area – camel trek desert camp

Our private Morocco trip continue next morning and after breakfast we will explore the local desert area visiting the village of Khamlia – the home of Gnawa people, originally slaves from Sudan and we experience their music and lifestyle. We will be guided by an experienced camel guide, and we’ll explore the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi before spending our first night under the stars in a traditional Berber nomad tent. The dinner will be served in the tent where you will spend this night.

DAY 3 : Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Our private 4 day Morocco trip continues in the morning by camel trek and you will enjoy also sunrise over the dunes. Then we get back to Merzouga village and after breakfast we drive towards Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. Here we’ll have the opportunity to hike along it’s valley. After lunch in the heart of the gorge we’ll drive through the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the castles and the amazing rock formations known as “monkey toes”. We stay overnight in local riad in the heart of the gorge.

DAY 4 : Dades Valley – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

On the last day of our private 4 day Morocco trip we drive through the Dades Valley passing “the route of thousand Kasbahs”. We’ll stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose city” where you may purchase the rosewater which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over. After that we continue to Ouarzazate, called as “the Hollywood of Africa”. We drive to Ait Ben haddou where we stay for lunch . Ait Ben Haddou kasbah is the largest Kasbah in Morocco and is recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage. It was a backdrop for many famous movies, including ‘Lawrence of Arabia’, ‘Gladiator’,etc. Our private Morocco trip continues through the Tizi ‘n’ tichka pass at 2260m. We arrive to Marrakech later afternoon.
